Sounds of Resilience
From September 2025-February 2026, Epiphany spent 4.5 months studying in Kielce, Poland where she researched the history of Poland and gathered soundscapes from the different geographic regions of the country. Inspired by the passion of Polish citizens when speaking about their turbulent past and how it has shaped Poland today, she created a six-piece suite in which each movement is inspired by key moments in Polish history. These key moments are: medieval Poland, the partitioning of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, World War I, World War II, and communism in Poland. The final movement is both a conclusion to the suite and a reflection of her personal experiences while studying in Poland.
You can read the full paper explaining each piece and the theoretical analysis here.
